Weekend Exploration in Wilsonville, Oregon Itinerary

*This post is in collaboration with Explore Wilsonville. All thoughts and opinions are my own*

Earlier this month, I had the wonderful opportunity to explore Wilsonville, Oregon with Explore WIlsonville, a city just 20 minutes south of Portland. I’ve never been there let alone heard of the city before, but I experienced a fun, event-filled weekend there. Today I’m breaking down places you can visit to add to your itinerary next time you find yourself in this city.

Where to stay:

Holiday Inn Portland I-5 S (Wilsonville): this location is very convenient and located close to the freeway. It is spacious and offers an indoor pool as well as houses BooneTown Tap and Grill (which we’ll get into below on places to eat). We enjoyed our stay here in the suite and found ourselves with plenty of room to relax in-between outings.

Where to eat:

Lux Sucre: Talk about an Instagrammable spot, this place not only has the cutest decor (and fun little spots outside and inside for photo ops), but it also has some tasty baked goods and even mimosas to start your day off! The fruit tarte was my favorite and their lemon lavender cupcake was also divine. #livetheluxlife

Corner Coffee Shoppe: For something closer to town and with a more intimate feel, check out this local coffee shop. They have a seasonal coffee menu and have fresh baked breads and bagels. It’s a good stop before heading to surrounding parks or for some shopping.

Abella Italian Kitchen: If you’re looking for some delicious Italian eats, then check out Abella Italian Kitchen. The clams were a favorite as well as the butternut squash ravioli with sage butter. Our waitress was super friendly and showed us their amazing selection of desserts made in-house. We of course couldn’t pass up on dessert and got tiramisu and a lava cake with ice cream!

BooneTown Tap and Grill: Whether you’re staying at Holiday Inn or looking for a good meal, specifically for dinner, check out Boonetown! They actually have a new chef that started about a month ago (Chef Eric) and he’s refreshing the menu and bringing some delicious dishes to the already staple menu. We had the opportunity to try out the salmon, grilled to perfection, and his take on a classic s’mores. It was one of my favorite things I ate on this trip and recommend a stop.

What to do:

Take a walk through a park: whether it’s the Town Center Park that houses the Oregon Korean War Memorial, Wilsonville Memorial Park, or Graham Oaks Nature Park, each are unique and are worth a visit, especially when the weather is nice.

Bullwinkle’s: Whether you’re visiting with your family or looking for a date night idea, this is an easy spot to bring anyone. We have one here in Seattle and it’s been years since I’ve been, so having a chance to go here (especially on their 21+ and over night!), brought some happy memories and we had a blast playing the games and just overall enjoying ourselves.

Thank you again Explore Wilsonville for an amazing weekend in this city. We just missed the cherry blossoms in full bloom, but it’s definitely on my mind to visit again whether this year or next Spring!
